Sindh government starts robotic surgery facility at SIUT

Sindh government on Saturday inaugurated a robotics surgery and training center at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), according to the Express Tribune.

“Robots can also perform surgery on those organs that are difficult to reach with the hands, is a revolutionary initiative in the field of surgery, “he said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the inauguration of Center of Excellence in Robotic surgery and training of Pakistan at the SIUT.

He congratulated the founder of SIUT, Dr. Adib Rizvi, and his team for installation of the facility at the hospital. “Robotic surgery can be done quickly and the patient recover quickly as it reduces pain in the human body as well as blood loss and the chance of infection.”

“I am proud that the Sindh government took a lead in robotic surgery in the country ”, he added.
