mother of 38-year-old man who was shot dead by two masked gunmen in his bed in early hours of Tuesday morning in Cregan area of Derry told her son was shot in ‘terrible case of misidentification.”
The victim, Eoin Bradley, was shot to death. in both kneecaps after gunmen broke into his Kildrum Gardens home.
They were allowed into it home his mother Bernie McFadden (62), after she answered a knock at her door.
“There were three of them. All of them were wearing masks. One of they screamed out name of their intended target, while the other two ran upstairs to Eoin’s bedroom. Everything happened so fast. I called out to them that it was just me and Eoin in in the house is not the person they were looking for but I was ignored and Eoin was shot dead in each kneecap.
“Then two militants ran down ladder and pushed past me and then they followed out of my home the third man.
“I ran upstairs and found Eoin on bed with blood everywhere. I called the police and they in the queue is called for ambulance. It was crazy. These people should do not allow run about with guns and randomly shoot the innocent people.
“They were screaming out in wrong name, and when I told them that they just ignored me and shot me son in his bed. Obviously they are not know who they were shooting.

“I had calls to my home sorry all morning with me. Many people know Eoin. It works and comes straight back home. He is a quiet person great human for communication and it happens to him in his own bed.
“I am awaiting word from the doctors at Altnagelvin Hospital to see if Eoin needs to be transferred to the hospital. in Belfast or if it can be treated here in Derry,” said Miss McFadden.
Meanwhile, a PSNI spokesperson called the shooting horrifying.
“It was reported us just after midnight these three are wearing masks men He joined property. Two of they went into the bedroom where the man was sleeping and shot him twice once in every leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injury.
