LAHORE: President and Leader of the PML-N of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif headed his on Monday party legislators to table a resolution in The parliament for repeal of the PECA ordinance (amendment), saying that a requisition should be presented for convocation of a joint session of The parliament.
He expressed these views at a meeting with a delegation of Joint Action Committee of the media bodies who call on Sharif here.
The delegation included of representatives of CPNE, APNS, PBA and others. CPNE President Kazam Khan, Mian Amir Mehmood of Dunya TV, Yousaf Nizami of Pakistan Today, Azhar Abbas, Ayaz Khan and others were also gift. PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb and others were also gift.
Shahbaz Sharif, while he pays tribute to the struggle of media for freedom of speech in the country, made sure that after coming to powerla its party it would abrogate the black dictatorial and anti-constitutional law in defense of freedom of speech.
Shehbaz Sharif supported the decision of the Joint Action Committee a challenge the PECA amendment ordinance in court and secured it full support in the legal battle.
