Sharif leave for Turkey tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will set off. on three-day maiden official visit to Turkey on Tuesday (tomorrow), the minister said for Information Marryum Aurangzeb.

In addition to developing relations between the two countries, minister said the visit would be important for strengthening cooperation in various industries, including investment, trade health care, education, culture and other fields of mutual interest.

Sharif will be accompanied by a high-level delegation.

Delegation also expected to attend the meeting of Pakistani Turkish Business Council and Engage with Turkish businessmen and merchants.

Aurangzeb said that Sharif will visit the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey.

Erdogan was first among foreign leaders to congratulate Sharif after he took sworn as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan in April.

In a telephone conversation with Sharif, Erdogan said prime minister he was “extremely happy” about his elevation.

“I sure that under your leadership, the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey will be strengthened,” he said.

Erdogan said they are carefully follow developments in Pakistan, with which, according to him, Turkey is connected by a deep-rooted history of friendship and brotherhood.

He also pointed out that Pakistan is not give up on democracy and rule of right, despite all the difficulties and obstacles. He added that Turkey is ready give All types of support to Pakistan, as it has been so far.

In response, Sharif said that he was striving to bring countries closer during his tenure and thanked Erdogan for his call.
