ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Thursday that Pakistan and China complete convergence on full use of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an important regional platform for development and connection.

Bilawal met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on aside of advice of Meetings of foreign ministers of SCO.

During the meeting, Bilawal and Wang considered progress in bilateral relations and discussed regional and international questions of mutual interest.

Referring to your meeting with in secretary general of SCO in Islamabad, Bilawal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the goals and principles of SCO and “Shanghai spirit”.

Both sides reaffirmed their firm support for each other’s core interests and core concerns, and a commitment to deepening strategic communication, including on highest political level and practical cooperation.

Foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the frequent high-level interactions between the two sides, which have been a hallmark of of bilateral relations.

He emphasized that his third meeting with Wang noted the importance that both sides attach to maintaining strategic contacts, further deepening the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership and developing economic cooperation. for mutual advantage.

Bilawal further emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) development reached new phase, with accentuate on High Quality development of industry, agriculture, information technology and science and technology, while delivering tangible social and economic benefits for in people.

Both sides discussed latest developments in Afghanistan, agreeing that peace and stability in Afghanistan were vital for regional development and prosperity. They are also agreed that only a peaceful, stable and connected Afghanistan can serve as a foothold for enhanced regional trade and connection.

The two foreign ministers agreed to maintain close coordination.
