Opening Ceremony for Leasing of Electric Vehicles in Saudi Arabia

Yesterday, the Saudi Arabian General Transport Authority sponsored the opening ceremony of the leasing of the first 10 electric vehicles from Lucid with a car rental company in the presence of a number of relevant authorities, in order for the car to join the fleet of available cars to the company’s customers for the first time since this month.
Promoting Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Transportation
This initiative is one of the innovative and clean solutions that opens up new opportunities for sustainability and quality of life, promotes the use of clean energy and encourages the use of electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly option. This is done with the aim of using clean energy in cars and reducing their carbon emissions in a way that helps to preserve the environment, according to SPA.
Supporting National Transportation and Logistics Services Strategy
The move is a continuation of the Public Transport Authority’s initiatives to support the goals of the National Transportation and Logistics Services Strategy, which aims to increase the share of electric vehicle use to 25% by 2030 compared to new cars in the Kingdom, allowing different sectors to provide transportation options that support innovation and technology. This partnership is the fourth in a series of agreements supported by the Authority in the second quarter of the current 2023 AD.
