Rwanda’s Heavy Rain and Flooding Claims Over 55 Lives

At least 55 people Deaths reported in floods and landslides triggered heavy rain in western Rwanda, government officials said on Wednesday.

Habitegeko said the rain began around 1800 (1600 GMT) on Tuesday and the Sebeya River overflowed its banks.

“The soil was already soaked in previous days of the rain that caused landslides that closed roads,” he said.
