Moscow’s Permanent Representative to the UN Calls Ukraine’s Counteroffensive Suicidal
Russia’s Military Actions Continue in Ukraine
Less than a month after the start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Moscow’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasyl Nebenzya, today, Friday, called Ukraine’s counteroffensive suicidal, noting that Russia’s military actions continue in Ukraine until it is disarmed.
Kyiv Fighting with the West’s Weapons
He also said that “Kyiv has no weapons and is fighting us with the weapons of the West,” noting that “the bombing of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station will cause great harm to Russia.”
Iran is Marching
In addition, the Russian delegate said at a press conference from New York that the opening of an investigation into Iran’s shipment of weapons to Russia is unfounded, noting that Western countries have presented unconvincing arguments regarding Russia’s support for the marches.
His speech was a commentary on the words of Washington’s UN representative Linda Thomas: “We are concerned about Iran sending drones to Russia.”
He also continued: “It is forbidden to transfer any weapons to Russia without the approval of the Security Council.”
Parade Factory
Earlier this month, the White House said Russia was receiving materials from Iran to build a plant on its territory to produce unmanned aerial vehicles.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said today, Friday, that Russia is “receiving materials from Iran to build a drone factory” on its property, indicating that the facility “may be able to operate at full capacity early next year.”.
Kirby also made it clear that Moscow was using Iranian marches to attack Kiev, stressing that the military partnership between the Russians and Iranians appeared to be expanding.
He also confirmed that Tehran has offered Russia unprecedented defense cooperation, including missiles, electronics and air defense, AFP reported. He believes that this full defense cooperation between the two countries is harmful for both Ukraine and Iran’s neighbors.
Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in February last 2022, America has imposed several sanctions on military equipment suppliers or marches to Russia, as has the European Union.
Although earlier Tehran denied its involvement in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and confirmed that it did not sell marches to Russian forces.
Moscow, in turn, has previously denied these accusations, emphasizing that it does not need military support from abroad.
However, Kyiv has repeatedly shown photos of the wreckage of a drone launched by Russian forces, proving that it is an Iranian industry.
