GUJAR KHAN: Commissioner Rawalpindi and Regional Police Officer (RPO) visited different areas of Chakwal will monitor security measures for Muharram.
Commissioner Nurul Amin Mengal and RPO Imran Ahmer together with Deputy Commissioner and District Police Commissioner (DPO) Chakwal visited the routes of processions for 6 and 7 Muharram and 17 Safar.
During the visit, the officers held meetings with organizers of processions and discussed security measures for Majalis.
officers also had a meeting with Tehrik-i-Khadim Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Emir Maulana Kazi Zahoor in Mandi Masjid Chakwal.
Retired DPO Captain Chakwal Mohammad bin Ashraf briefed officers on security measures. in district, assuring them that foolproof measures were in place.
He said 5000 cops personnel will be deployed on in first 10 days of Muharram while they are assisted by traffic police volunteers.
The DPO said help of Army, Punjab Police Force and Elite Forces also be accepted for safety.
