ISLAMABAD:
Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Perwaiz Ashraf on Thursday accepted the resignation of 11 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) exactly 109 days after they resigned from their seats.
With move process of officially began accepting resignations.
NA Speaker Accepts Resignation of several key PTI leaders, including former human rights minister Shirin Mazari, former internal affairs officer minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah, ex-state minister for parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and the ex-state minister for information and broadcast of Farrukh Khabib in accordance with Article 64(1) of Constitution.
Other PTI legislators whose resignations have been accepted are Fazal Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Ali, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Jameel Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Akram Cheema, Abdul Shakur Shad and Shandana Gulzar Khan. Mazar and Shandana were elected on reserved seats for women from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa respectively.
Article 64 (vacation of places) says: “Member of [Majlis-e-Shoora] parliament maybe by writing under his hand in the name of the speaker or, as the case may be, the chairman resigns [from] his place, and after that his place will become vacant.”
The NA Secretariat stated that the resignations were accepted after requirements according to the rules of procedure and behavior of Business in National Assembly, 2007
After the decision, the secretariat issued notices and sent them to the Electoral Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which will now accept steps to fill vacancies.

All of MPs have resigned. on April 11 when former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted as a result no-confidence movement of the then united opposition and the current ruling alliance.
Lawyers say that article 224 (4) (time of elections and by-elections) of Constitution, made mandatory by-election on vacancies within 60 days.
Article 224 (4) states: “When, except for the dissolution of National Assembly or Provincial Assembly, seat in any such meeting becomes vacant not later than 120 days before term of that the assembly must expire, elections to fill the seat must be held within 60 days of the occurrence of vacancies.”

Earlier, the NA Speaker called in all 131 PTI legislators, who resigned from their seats in the assembly to test whether their resignations were “genuine and voluntary”.
Letters have been sent to all PTI members, who were invited individually for examination of their resignations, starting June 6 and ending on June 10th.
In accordance with system was designed, each MNA would be given five minutes to confirm if their resignation was voluntary and genuine. Speaker invited MNA in the pursuit of Item (b) of Tweaked (2) of Rule 43 of regulations of procedure and behavior of Business in NA, 2007.
However, PTI head Imran Khan banned him party members from appearing before the NA Speaker, calling it a trap. PTI legislatures are not show up and the case has been pending before the speaker ever since.
On April 16 the NA Speaker instructed the NA Secretariat to sort out with resignations of The PTI legislators re-submit them to him so that they can be treated in accordance with the law.
The decision came amid claims and speculation that some of PTI legislators did not want to resign and reported that their resignation should not be accepted.

speaker direction came in a few days former Resolution of Vice Speaker Suri accepting his resignation of PTI legislators after they left the assembly en masse in protest over alleged “foreign interference” that resulted in Imran Khan being ousted from office prime minister.
Ashraf’s ruling opened up chapter of resignation once again and it was assumed that the process of checking “intentionally” will take some time to give newly formed government a breather to calm down down.
The NA Secretariat did not explain why the speaker accepted the resignation of only 11 legislators and no others, and what criteria were met for go ahead with favorites and leaving 120 others in limbo. Secretariat also not share if the NA Speaker planned to adopt more resignations in coming days.

ESP announced that by-election on one The National Assembly and two seats in the Punjab Assembly will be held on 11 September.
According to the notice, by-elections will be held in ON-157 (Multan-IV), PP-139 (Sheikhupura-V) and PP-241 (Bahawalnagar-V).
The seat in NA-157 was vacated by PTI’s Zain Qureshi. who participated in in the Punjab Assembly constituency elections as provincial candidate and defeated Salman Naeem of PML-N.
Place PP-139 vacated after resignation of PML-N Candidate Jalil Sharakpuri while seat at Bahawalnagar PP-241 was vacated after ECP removed notice from Kashif Mehmood of PML-N over fake diploma.
In accordance with schedule, public notification will be issued by the returning officer (RO) on 2 August, while candidates could submit their nomination papers from 3 to 5 August.
Names of nominated candidates will be published on August 6, bye last date for examination of nomination of RO documents on 11 August.
last date for registration of appeals against decisions of The RO rejects or accepts nomination papers on August 16 while last date for solution of appeals of the appellate instance – 22 August.
Revised list of candidates will be published on August 23, bye last date for conclusion of candidature August 24th.
