The International Weightlifting Federation has set the conditions for participation in international championships for Russian athletes.
According to the International Weightlifting Federation, “Athletes and administrators must wear neutral colors, which must be grey.”
He continued: “The uniforms must be free of inscriptions and drawings, and athletes from Russia are prohibited from speaking in support of Russia’s own military operation in Ukraine.”
Athletes will also be penalized if the terms of the neutral position are violated. The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the International Weightlifting Federation has the authority to impose a fine of up to US$5,000 on an athlete or administrator, and a national federation may be fined up to US$100,000. .
From May 12, Russian athletes can participate in the championships of the organization on a neutral basis, making sure that the athletes do not have connections with the armed forces and state security agencies of their country.
