PCS general secretary Mark Servotka, said: “It’s a humiliating descent government it’s a stunning victory for Employees of the Ministry of the Interior and for refugees. Few doubt that lives have been saved. The repulsion maneuver is extremely dangerous and is clear risk to life and health. We just weren’t ready. allow our members will be accommodated in it’s a terrible situation.”
Claire Moseley, Founder of Care4Calais, said “I find it hard believe that anyone within government thought that doing repulsion in The channel was viable policy”.

Stephen Martin of Channel rescuers said: “Kickbacks are a reckless threat to life and we have always supported and reminded government that they are illegal. Violent coercion back of people seeking protection disgusts and deprives them of their right to asylum.”
