Real Madrid Coach’s Initial Statement Misses the Mark

Italian Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of Real Madrid, said his team deserved to win at home against Manchester City in the meeting that brought them together on Tuesday night in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Ancelotti said during press statements after the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium: “We have very good feelings as we competed and fought and maybe we deserved to win and we will fight until then.” until the last minute.”

He added: Manchester City had control of the ball in the first 30 minutes but that didn’t bother us because we were in a good defensive position and in the second half we did better from the start and were able to win. .”

And of his anger after Manchester City scored the equalizing goal, the Italian manager commented: “The ball was out of bounds before it hit our goal and the referee was not very attentive and gave me a yellow card when I objected, and I was really angry.”

He concluded by saying, “We both feel like we’ve achieved a good result and now it’s our turn to fight outside of our land and we won’t be among our fans, but they will go with us with their hearts.”

The Real Madrid side will face the risky task of continuing their title defense journey when they visit Manchester City in the second leg on Wednesday 17 May at their Al Ittihad Stadium in Manchester.
