PTI’s challenge ban on live telecast of Imran’s speeches – Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to take legal action against ban imposed by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on in live telecast of speeches of former prime minister as well as party chairman Imran Khan in light of his remarks against court and police during the rally in Islamabad on Saturday.

It is reported by PTI. senior Central Vice President Fawad Chaudhry during a press conference here on Sunday. Imran Khan did not say anything illegal or make any threats during the F-9 park rally, Mr. Chaudhry said when he reported coalition government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take on Mr Khan politically instead of resorting to bans.

Saturday, speaking at a rally in Islamabad will express solidarity with PTI Head Dr. Shahbaz Gill facing proceedings in sedition case, Mr Khan alerted the judiciary against his “prejudiced” attitude and warned the judge who sent to Mr Gill on physical detention for effects. The PTI leader confirmed his demand for an independent commission to investigate allegations of torture. He added that the reluctance to create a commission raises many questions. PTI leader also questioned decision ban Imran Khan and other PTI leaders from meeting with Shahbaz Gill. He claimed that Mr. Gill shared the details of the alleged torture he “suffered for hours”at the police station.

Commenting on Interior Minister Rana Sanaulla, former information minister said that Mr. Sanaullah himself was tortured in in past but he still treated the alleged torture of Mr Gill as usual issue.

Meanwhile, imprisoned PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, who was in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pimov) left for health reasons on “hunger strike” and refused to cooperate with medical board created to establish alleged torture of head of PTI.

According to a letter dated August 21 new medical board consisted of four people, and two more members were co-opted. board is chaired by Dr. Shafaat Khatun (General Medicine) and other members include Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Dr. Ziaul Haq and Dr. Salman Shafi Kaul.

Co-opted members, Dr. Farrukh Kamal and Dr. Muhammad Nasir, were tasked with forensic medical opinion.

A doctor in Pims, who wished to remain anonymous, said Mr Gill went on a hunger strike on Saturday evening.

“Every Saturday of Gill’s tests were normal. Members of medical board on Sunday went to him to collect samples for tests again but Gill refused. He was also asked to cooperate for a forensic report to determine any torture, but he refused,” he said.
