ISLAMABAD: after a one-day visit to Karachi for a meeting with businessmen, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked them for inviting him.
Going to Twitter prime minister said “Thank you Karachi business community for an invitation to speak. I explained the point behind ban on import of luxury items: saving meager foreign exchange, dollar stabilization, end social imbalance and strengthening of local industry”.
Speaking about the government-led PTI, the prime minister said that government “took loans worth Rs 20,000 billion which was an increase of 80% in loans taken since 1947,” adding that people want answers if he has one project to show for these loans.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shahbaz addressed business community in Karachi and sought solutions to the economic problems facing the country.
In his speech, the prime minister asked businessmen to tell about their problems and said: “We need analyze the economic situation with patience.”
Then the Prime Minister demanded business community provide solutions as the local currency fluctuates a lot lately against United States dollar.
“I’m not here for political scoring,” the prime minister clarified, emphasizing that he wants know solutions problems faced through business community.
