Policeman killed in Gwadar as protesters clash with cops

Islamabad [Pakistan]December 27 (API): Policeman killed in pakistani port city of Gwadar as clashes between locals and police continue for in second day in a row, according to the Dawn newspaper. on Tuesday.
The police said the constable was shot dead in neck after violence erupted during a protest in Hashmi Chowk. “He died on place,” they said.
Police spokesman Aslam Khan told Dawn that the police had decided to register murder case against Haq Do Tehreek (HDT) leader Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, who was leading protest in in city.
Clashes took place between protesters and security forces as part of protests against The Balochistan Post reported that after the protest leaders were arrested, illegal fishing turned into violence.
HDT activists protested in in city for almost two months. According to a Pakistani daily, their demands include an end to illegal trawling. in Gwadar water, high number of checkpoints and opening up of trade on Pakistani-Iranian border.

This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Balochistan Mir Ziaulla Langov. out It is something of Haq Do Tehreek (HDT) claims did not fall under provincial government jurisdiction. “Some unpaid customs vessels have been caught, but we have no right to release them.”
In a statement, he explained that the HDT’s demands for the Gwadar border and port were “fair”, but expressed regret that the provincial authorities could do nothing about it.

Previously, Ziaulla reported that police had arrested 18 HDT people. people who attacked the police compound and set compound gate on fire and insisted on blocking the port of Gwadar.
“Whoever breaks the law or takes the law into his own hands, with by law, even if Maulana found involved in this,” he warned. (ANI)
