Police forces across the country warning drivers about insidious conditions on roads as the UK continues to suffer from low temperatures and is covered in snow.
Northwest Highway Police said officers answered the number of crashes on main roads in to the northwest due to difficult conditions.
force tweeted: “Good morning guys snowfall this morning causes surface water on in the region of highways.
“We currently a business with RTC on M58, M62, M61 and A556. Please be careful if you are heading out today and don’t forget allow lots of of time & drive carefully.”
At the opposite end of country, the Devon and Cornwall police told motorists that they should travel only when necessary and be warned of dangerous icy conditions patches on roads.
In a tweet on Saturday noon force said: “Motorists are being urged to take precautions and only drive when necessary as temperatures drop and icy roads continue to make driving very difficult, especially in North Devon as it can be icy there patches on uncultivated and rural roads”.
Meanwhile, Rod Dennis, press secretary for RAC suggested football fans leave your cars in home and go on foot if you go out watch England play France in world Cup quarter-final.
He said: big frosts continue today, and those who are heading out on roads need to be careful risk of ice, especially in south and west of United Kingdom covered weather warnings.

The snow that covered the parts of UK temporarily forcibly closes today of runways at Manchester Airport on this morning. The airport confirmed that the runways reopened this afternoon.
