P&O Ferries run away criminal prosecution over mass layoff of 786 workers

P&O Ferries will not face prosecution for his mass dismissal of 786 workers.

The Insolvency Service, which conducted out aa criminal layoff investigation in March, said prosecutors came to the conclusion that there is no real prospect of belief.

He also called for Company boss Peter Hebblethwaite exits.

During the hearing in parliament, he admitted that his company violated the law, required them give staff notification.

Business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng asked the Bankruptcy Office to investigate whether any wrongdoing had been committed.

This was announced by the representative of the bankruptcy service. on Friday night: “After full and reliable criminal investigation of circumstances related to employees who we made laid off by P&O Ferries, we came to the conclusion that we would not start criminal proceedings.”

Independent senior attorney for the prosecution reviewed the investigation and decided there was no realistic prospect of persuasion, representative added.

However, the civil investigation of the Insolvency Service is ongoing.
