In an attempt to soften the blow of his governments decision withdraw subsidies on fuel, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday new relief package of 28 billion rupees per month to “protect the poor from the impact of inflation”.

Under the relief package, Shahbaz said Rs 2,000 each will be paid to poor families across the country and scholarships will be given to deserving families under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), adding that the public service stores it was proposed to sell a 10-kilogram bag of flour for 400 rupees.

He accused former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with destruction national economy, saying that Imran Khan under the leadership government accepted stringent conditions from the IMF, which made people life is miserable. “Previous government granted subsidies on fuel for political conquests,” he said. added.
“We are not responsible for agreement with IMF on hard terms, pushing the country into darkness of economic quagmire and load shedding, burying the country under the worst debt cargo in this is history and suffocation of the economy but previous government this is prime minister said.
“We are launching new relief package worth 28 billion rupees per month to save the poor people from the burden of rising prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, prime minister said the nation. He said that 14 million poor families, including 85 million people, will be given 2,000 rupees for family.
“It in in addition to the cash assistance provided to them under the Benazir Income Support Program. It’s a relief package will be made part of in next budget”, he said. In addition, he added that he was in charge of the utility stores to set in price of bag 10 kg of flour 400 rub.
He emphasized that former prime minister Imran Khan was removed from power on public demand and democratic means. ” people of Pakistan wanted get rid of of in [previous] incompetent and corrupt rulers, so we accepted challenge,” he continued.
