ISLAMABAD: recently elected Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday urged his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to work together for peace and socio-economic development of in people.
Responding to a tweet by Narendra Modi, Shahbaz Sharif thanked the Indian prime minister for congratulations on his election as prime minister of Pakistan and wrote: “Let’s secure peace and focus on socio-economic development of our people”.
He said that Pakistan wants peaceful relations and cooperation. with India, adding that the peace settlement of unresolved disputes, including Jammu and Kashmir, are indispensable.
Reaffirming the incomparable sacrifices of the country in war against terrorism, said Shahbaz, “victims of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism is well known.”
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “India wants peace and stability. in a region for free of terror so we can focus on our development challenges and ensure well-being and prosperity of our people”.
