ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Newly appointed Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.
The Prime Minister praised the stable progress achieved in bilateral relations over years and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire and commitment to further strengthen cooperation in various areas such as trade and investment, agriculture, including wheat production, animal husbandry, including animal husbandry, educational and technical cooperation, direct air-links, qualified migration and people-to-people contacts.
The Australian High Commissioner reciprocated this desire. for further strengthening of bilateral relations and expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan assistance role in safe evacuation of its citizens and others from Afghanistan.
PM highlights cooperation Pakistan continues to provide international community in commemoration of situation in Afghanistan, especially since August last year.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan wants peaceful ties with India, based on principles of impartiality, justice and mutual respect. In this context just and peaceful solution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in conformity with relevant UNSC resolutions and wishes of Kashmiri people was irreplaceable. The Prime Minister stressed that international community had play relief role in in this regard, because it was necessary for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
