ISLAMABAD:
Saar Chamber of President of Trade and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik on Tuesday emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Turkey, saying it will further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries countries.
Iftikhar said that the existing annual bilateral trade worth $1.1 billion could be taken between Pakistan and Turkey up up to $5 billion through the use true potential on both sides.
Conversation with the delegation of young women entrepreneurs headed by Ramin Kashif, he pointed out out during last 25 years, annual export of Pakistan to Turkey rose by just 4.01% from $148 million. in 1995 to $394 million. in 2020.
The President of the Saark Chamber said that Turkey has a much stronger industrial base compared to Pakistan and stressed need to protect interests of The manufacturing sector of Pakistan, especially auto assembly and auto parts of the industry.
Malik quoted that during last visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed with Pakistan, Ankara and Islamabad on the draw up statement of economic framework increase bilateral trade up to 5 billion dollars.
“Pakistani exporters should cash in on sincere suggestions made for them in Turkish market”, he stressed.
Delegation head Ramin Kashif hoped that Prime Minister Sharif would bring more Turkish investors in Pakistan to inject capital into special economic zones.
