Pakistan informs P-5 envoys on offensive remarks by BJP leaders – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Sohail Mahmoud on Monday Briefed P-5 Envoys on derogatory remarks from Indian BJP leaders and urged them to ask New Delhi to take strong and visible action against those responsible.

“Foreign Minister Sohail Mahmoud personally met envoys of permanent members of United Nations Security Council (P-5) in Islamabad on Monday to let them know of derogatory and offensive remarks made for two senior leaders of ruling of india party bdp, against Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him),” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

referring to special duty of R-5 countries taking into account maintenance of international peace and security and maintenance of principles enshrined in UN Charter, the Foreign Minister urged them to take into account of it’s disgusting development growing hate speech and rising high tide of Islamophobia in India.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the formality and carelessness of the BJP token disciplinary measure against these people won’t soften the pain they have caused Muslims all over the world.

noting clear and consistent pattern of state-sanctioned persecution of Muslims, Foreign Minister added what failure of bjp leadership and indian government to unequivocally condemn the recent blasphemous comments was further proof of impunity for Hindutva fanatics.

He stressed the need to call on India to take decisive and demonstrative action. against those responsible. Sohail Mahmoud also urged P-5 envoys to India should also be responsible for infringement of rights of its religious minorities, especially its Muslim population, and encouraged ensure full protection of their fundamental rights and freedoms.
