KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday clarified that no restrictions have been set on accepting donations for in CM Relief Fund of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
“It was observed that several complaints were circulated on social media platform of rejection of donations from general public in ‘CM Flood Relief Fund’ of KP and Punjab”, central bank said in statement.
In this regard, the SBP stated that they had conducted an investigation and concerned the banks said such complaints are “baseless” as they accept donations to established funds.
SBP has stated that it accepts donations through all possible channels, including over- counter (OTC) cash transactions, online transfers and both international and local credit card transfers).
The respective banks have also confirmed that the transactions are going through place in these accounts on daily, the report says.
“Banks have also certified [us] what do they all do possible efforts to play them role in noble cause of help people affected by the flood,” the statement said.
