Instant messaging app WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to edit messages after sending them, and the app developers are making further adjustments to them in preparation for its imminent launch.
WhatsApp’s messaging feature has been in post-submission testing since the middle of last year and still is, as reports show the feature is in the final stages of the development process before it rolls out to all users.
The WhatsApp developers have made a change to the message modification feature that was seen in the latest beta, as a pop-up will be displayed to the user saying that the message has been successfully modified once the modification is completed.
Users of the beta version of the application on the WhatsApp Web computer have also noticed that the feature has already begun to appear as an experimental mobile application.
The new feature allows WhatsApp users to modify messages after they have been sent to the other party in individual conversations or chat groups, provided that this only happens within 15 minutes of sending them, otherwise the user will not be able to modify them.
This feature provides an alternative option for users if they feel that a message they sent is inappropriate or contains typos, for example, instead of deleting the message or submitting another message for correction.
It is mentioned that any changeable message will be marked with the word “modified” or “edited”, so that all participants in the conversation know that the message has been changed after being sent.
This feature is considered one of the most anticipated features by WhatsApp users and its launch is imminent now after a long trial period.
And Mita, the app’s parent company, recently launched the feature to run a WhatsApp account on multiple phones at the same time, and is also testing other important benefits, such as the ability to transfer conversations from one phone. to another directly via Wi-Fi without backup.
