Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders exchange barbs with federal government minister over grant of physical confinement of senior party leader Shehbaz Gill to Islamabad Police on order of additional court hearings on Wednesday.
jill, who was filed in Adiala Rawalpindi Prison after being sent on the court order for detention by the bailiff was served over Islamabad police late on Wednesday after high drama in jail because the authorities resisted his transfer to the federal capital.
according to some media reports, jail authorities insisted that prisoners of Adiala jail passed medical examination in the regional regional hospital. in Rawalpindi, holding the opinion that medical team from Islamabad were unable to check the prisoners.
After reports of stand-off between the police teams of In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Rangers and the Frontier Corps (PC) were called in by the Ministry of the Interior to carry out court orders. Another report stated that jail authorities have been warned of contempt of court case if they haven’t handed over over Jill.
Information Minister Marrium Aurangzeb blamed PTI Chairman Imran Khan of flagrantly violating court orders and exerting undue pressure on bureaucracy of Punjab over Gill’s guardianship. She said PTI ignored all the laws like it was using all tactics to protect Gill from the investigation.
Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran tweeted that Gill in fragile state of mental and physical health because of torture inflicted on him after his arrest. Terming Gilla arrest conspiracy to target him and PTI, Imran said he would sue against these extra-constitutional actions.
“Highly concerned that Shahbaz Gill was taken into police custody again. He in fragile state of mental and physical health because of torture applied on him when he was kidnapped and taken to a secret location & then again at the police station,” Imran said. in a series of tweets.
“This is part of conspiracy to target me and PTI by forcibly obtaining false statements against us looks like what they did against social media activists. This is absolutely unacceptable. We will take all legal and police actions to resist not only this torture that Shahbaz Gill is subjected to, but also also any such contemplated extra-constitutional and extra-legal actions against us”.
Previously, senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry demanded an investigation into “torture on Gill.” In an interview with reporters, he stressed that the Islamabad High Court (ABC) should hold an inquiry, expressing the hope that the court will resolve the case on price.
Chaudhry told reporters that only PTI can keep Pakistan united. He claimed that currently basic human rights were suspended in Pakistan. “People are kidnapped and tortured for personal ego of rulers, he added.
The Islamabad police later denied all allegations made by the PTI leadership. A police spokesman stated that Gill had not been subjected to any form of of violence during his physical detention. representative added what Gill went through regular medical examinations, on directions of courts and judges.
The representative explained that the Islamabad police complied with all legal requirements on orders of court. He added that the authorities will follow orders and expect jail administration will cooperate in in this respect.
At the same time, in response to information ministercomments, PTI leader Farrukh Habib said that Marriyum Aurangzeb was tasked with spreading propaganda against PTI. “She is should first comment on her own party leaders who are currently summoned by the court,” he said.
