Millions of Britons would find it hard or impossible to cover an extra £20 in monthly expenditure | UK News

More than a third of Adults in The UK will find it difficult or impossible to cover the £20 increase. in their monthly expenses, according to new research.

The Civic Council commissioned a survey of 2000 adults from 5 to 9 December and found what one in four would find it somewhat difficult to cover the increase, 7% would find it very difficult, and 4% would find it impossible.

Also among those who would find extra cost difficult or impossible were 58% of those on benefits, 57% of those using prepayment counters for their energy supply and 47% of people of Colour.

Citizens Advice chief executive Dame Claire Moriarty said: “Millions of households are on financial tipping point: running down savings by going without the bare necessities and turning to food banks to get by.

“We already seeing record numbers of people coming to us for a crisis support and this research shows people just can’t cut back further.

“Current government support is a band-aid that wears out quickly due to increased pressures people are facing.

“Without further targeted intervention, we risk Other year of despair for millions of people.”

Study also found that third of people had to dig through my savings in in last three months to pass, and more how half of they either had run out of savings or expect it in in next three months.
