Spencer replied: “We have no plans to bring it to other closed platforms at the moment, that’s mainly because those closed platforms don’t want Game Pass.”
It seems Spencer to insinuate that companies like Nintendo and Sony do not want to offer Game Pass – after all, that is mainly profitable for Microsoft. “There are enough open platforms for us to grow: the internet, PC and mobile. Our focus is on those platforms.”
Spencer does not close that the strategy may change in the future. “Evolution always takes time. Different companies have various strengths that they have built through hard work, and certain changes may disrupt their strategy. They have their own business rhythm at which they make adjustments. But when we say we want everyone on Xbox can play, we believe that: If we can bring the full experience to a device that players want, we’re open to it.”
