Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on On Friday they said that a clearly visible low pressure area over The northeast Arabian Sea has turned into a depression (intense low pressure area) and could trigger heavy rain in parts of Sindh and Balochistan from August 12 (today) to August 14 (Sunday).

According to the warning, depression with maximum wind speed of 50-55 km/h, lie on distance of about 260 km south/southeast of Karachi and 280 km from Thatta.

“This weather system Most likely move in northwest direction first and then west. Currently no of Coastal Pakistan area is under any threat from this weather system”, – stated in the message of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

He also stated that the Tropical Cyclone Warning Center in Karachi was closely monitoring system and updates will be released accordingly.

“Marine conditions remain very rude during next three days. fishermen of Sindh is not recommended venture in the open sea until August 14, ”the meteorological service warned.

In a separate notice, the PMD said that current weather system can generate thunderstorms with heavy rain and occasional strong winds in Tarparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar, Hyderabad, Matyari, Thatta, Sujawal, Sangkhar, Shahid Benazirabad, Nushero Feroz, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Gothki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Dadu and Jamshoro until August fourteen.

“Precipitation intensity may increase in northeast and south regions of Balochistan, which can trigger flash flood in Districts of Dadu, Jamshoro, Kambar Shahdadkot and downstream,” the message says. added.
