KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted hot and dry days in the city next week, especially after March 15th.
Mercury is expected to remain between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius and could even approach 40 degrees. There the rising temperatures will stop the sea breeze in in the mornings, even if it could resume in the evening.
Meanwhile on Sunday, the highest temperature in Karachi was recorded 22 degrees Celsius, while the water content in the air remained at 66%. Winds are expected to blow at 8km per hour.
Residents were warned to stay indoors in the next day and consume as much water as possible.
Here are some ways to stay calm in Karachi heat:
- Do not go out between 12:00 and 15:00 when the sun is strongest
- Wear loose, light clothing
- Put on the sunscreen and stay in the shadow
- Drink a lot of fluids
- Cover yours head (wear a scarf or cap)
- Use lip balm and eye drops to make sure your lips and eyes don’t get too dry
- You should also know what are the symptoms of a heat stroke.
