The man was shot dead in in back on Westland Way in north Belfast in early hours of Tuesday morning.
he’s a man, who aged in he was in his thirties, was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries. Masked suspect fled on foot after the incident shortly after midnight.
A large number of police officers were at the scene during the night.
Armed response vehiclespolice dog units and a helicopter were located on Westland Way.
Forensic units were also seen at the scene in in north of in the city where is the square of in street were cordoned off off.
Detective Sergeant Dougherty said: “The suspect, described as thin and wearing all in dark clothes with mask on and hood drawn skin-tight over his face is believed to have fled area on foot in in direction of Westland Road.
“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and we are reaching out to anyone who was in in area at that time and saw something, or who may have a DVR or other footage to contact the police on 101 with reference to 22 of 24/5/22″.
