After installing the latest update from Apple, some iPhone users are experiencing battery issues.
They complained about several issues related to the new “iOS 16.5” update, such as the phone’s high temperature and battery charging speed compared to the previous one, according to technology news website Zdnet.
Therefore, the site provides 7 tips, thanks to which you can find out where the malfunction is and eliminate battery problems that may arise.
1- Patience
Decreased battery life after installing any update from Apple is normal.
The iPhone needs to perform a number of background tasks after the update and this consumes more power than usual, so the battery life will return to normal once all these extra tasks are completed.
2- Reload
It may seem strange to recommend a reboot because the update process automatically reboots the phone.
But repeating it can really help – and it’s been proven to work many times over.
3- Update Apps
The problem may not be related to iOS, but to a malicious application, which means that it is worth making sure that all your applications are up to date.
To do this, go to the Apple Store and click on your profile icon at the top. Then scroll down to find available updates and click Update All.
4- Find the cause of the dead battery
If the previous step didn’t improve your battery, there may be a “rogue” app that is draining your phone. Luckily, iOS gives you the tools you need to track down malicious apps.
So, go to settings and then battery. You’ll see plenty of data here, including “phone activity by apps,” which details how much power an app uses when it’s on screen and how much it uses in the background.
This information can be used to diagnose battery drain issues and thus control which app is consuming too much power.
5- Replace the battery
If the phone is 4 years old or older, the battery may be old and should be replaced.
To find out, tap Settings and navigate to Battery, then Phone Health & Charging and check the maximum capacity of the specified battery.
If this percentage is less than 80%, it may mean that the battery has failed and needs to be replaced.
6- High temperature
The problem may initially be the phone’s susceptibility to extreme temperatures, especially when used inside a car in the sun while on a charger.
If high temperature leads to corrosion of battery cells and performance problems.
7- Wait
If the previous steps didn’t work, just wait for a new update from Apple to resolve the issue.
