  • The figure is a fraction of in more over 6 million Ukrainians who were driven out by the Russians invasion.
  • “There seems to be an assumption that the Ukrainians will want return home” one advocate said. “…What home going to watch like?”

Roughly 150,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the US since March, and many new arrivals rely on them new communities in order to survive as they struggle overcome trauma of war.

“Like all refugees, they are starting from scratch,” said Krish O’Mara Vinyaraja, President and CEO of Lutheran Immigrant and Refugee Service founded in Baltimore. “They have lost their homes, left favorite behindseen images of civilians were executed. All of it takes a huge mental load.”
