Level results: Covid generation faces university rejection | News

Dozens of thousands of teenagers are expected to miss out on them first-University selection as the most disadvantaged high school graduates since World War II take exams results Today.

first pupils sit traditional exams since start of pandemic will be awarded approximately 80,000 fewer A and A* grades than last year cohort.

Experts say 40,000 candidates could be rejected first choice if they miss the class. This is partly due to the fact that population of more school graduates, but universities also over- recruited last year due to the sharp inflated grades at level A.

Majority of students are expected to receive results required for their firm offer, but those who are missing their grades or haven’t received them yet
