Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is still using Afghan land for launching attacks on Pakistan – especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
“Islamabad good connections with ruling Taliban government in Kabul. However, the Afghan authorities failed in stop use of their territory in attacks on Pakistan,” he said. in Interview with US broadcaster Voice of America.
The case for the federal minister they said they brought up and discussed last month when a high-level delegation, which included Asif and ISI Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum, met with Afghan officials.
“During the meeting, the defense minister said: “The Taliban have expressed their determination with this problem”.
The Afghan authorities said they would not allow their land will be used for terrorism against any country, Asif added.
He also said that he believes the Afghan Taliban are “distancing themselves” from banned outfits, however, due to fact what they fought against NATO Together in in the past, there is a certain “partnership” between the two parties.
During an interview with Asif also it was argued that the resettlement of TTP leaders in Pakistan was made through the “program”.
“[Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister] Imran Khan has shown throughout his political career that he ideologically supports of Taliban. IN various points, international media even called him “Taliban Khan,” he said.
He added that the TTP was in possession of advanced equipment left behind the US after he left, claiming that India is still helping them too.
stating that people of the tribal territories and the CP were not ready for “coexistence” with Taliban, protection minister said: “It is noteworthy that people protest without weapons against Return of Taliban.”
He also shared that the Taliban are “undermining their gains with restrictions on women”.
Speaking on cause of political scenario in In Pakistan, Asif said that “Khan’s position is constantly changing.”
“Imran Khan blames the army. I don’t know where Imran Khan stands in regards to the US and the army at the present time. Starting from America, he has now reached Punjabi IS. for CONSPIRACY against to him.
“From his recent statements, I don’t understand if he is worth with institution or not, and whether he wants to negotiate with V government or not.
“There is no clear stand for their. Assad Qaiser and others talk about dialogue. This should be national dialogue in which institution, media and members of civil society is present. Only then can national dialogue to be successful.”
