ISLAMABAD: Host Shahzeb Khanzada raised several questions on Wednesday over Toshakhana deals after PTI chairman Imran Khan threatened to take him away, Geo Newsand Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor to court.
During the interview on News Geo program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath”, Zahoor claimed that Farah Gogi and Shahzad Akbar sold expensive wristwatch Graff, worth him at least 2 billion rupees, which was gifted Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman Khan.
In his testimony, the businessman listed four gifts he bought from Farah, a close friend of wife of Khan Bushra Bibi, who was also retracted in corruption cases in recent years.
After the revelations, PTI management denied the businessman’s allegations and stated that no one named Zahoor was sold to Toshakhan gifts. Then Khan, announced that he will take action against Khanzada, Geo News and “fraud”.
“Enough is enough. Yesterday, Geo and Khanzada, with the support of curators, slandered me through baseless story cooked up known scammer and internationally wanted criminal,” he claimed.
After Khan’s threat, Khanzada spoke over telephone with Geo News and said former prime minister that all stories are aired after due diligence, and he was willing to accept challenge.
The journalist asked if Khan thought Zahoor was a “fraudster” then why did he gifts? “If a [Khan] did not sell gifts him, to whom did he sell it?”
“We always run a story after complete the study. We don’t have to find out who were gifts Sales; Imran Khan must report people”.
cursing former prime minister Khanzada said that every time he spends show as far as PTI is concerned, he does sure that party leaders are invited, but they never show up.
“We will face PTI Chairman in to any court he wants,” Khanzada said.
In front of the Khan of his party, the leadership of Russia held a press conference at which they mentioned the same thing – story was unreasonable, Zahoor is a scammer and they move Courts.
At a press conference along with PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said that party made a decision to initiate criminal proceedings against Zahoor because his claims were unfounded.
“In 2018, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia gifted hours to Imran Khan and controversy over watch price walked on for some time ago”, former federal minister said.
Chaudhry said that the watch was worth 100 million rupees. in line with the law governing Toshakhana, the khan sold it for more than 50 million rupees in in market and filed capital gains tax on It.
Disclosure of details of Toshakahan procedures, the PTI leader said when gifts handed over to government officials arrive in Pakistan, they are deposited in Toshahan.
Protection former prime minister Chaudhry said gift items were not sold to a businessman from Dubai, and a friend of Bushra Bibi did not have role in their sale.
“The watch was not sold anyone named Umar Zahoor. The clock has not been transferred over in Farah for sale but not there role in it,” he said, making accusations against millionaire.
Chaudhry said that Zahoor has total of three brothers who serve jail time in Norway. He added that the businessman himself facing criminal cases.
The PTI leader further said that Zahoor took his children to Dubai on illegal documentation.
