National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday gave K-Electric (KE) the go-ahead to increase power tariff at Rs 1.3863 per unit for residents of metropolis on Account of fuel surcharge adjustment (FCA) for February 2022.
FCA for February 2022 fee will apply with check of May 2022, which will be paid for by all categories of consumers, except for lifelong assistance consumers.
KE originally asked the regulator to charge the FCA of Rs 3,452 per unit but after hearing on On April 4, NEPRA asked the utility company to charge Rs 1.4 as FCA.
Rs 1.4 increase will be a burden of 1.8 billion rupees on consumers, including VAT.
On the other hand, the Central Power Procurement Agency-Guarantee Limited Liability (CPPA-G) has requested the FCA. of Rs 3.2 per item for month of March 2022 for XWDISCO.
The regulator held a hearing on April 27, after which the authorities approved Rs 2.8680 per unit. power tariff increase.
“FCA of March 2022 charged in billing month of May 2022 for all categories of consumers of XWDISCO, except for consumers of essential services,” NEPRA said in a statement. This is also added what the FCA will remain applicable for only a month and does not apply to KE consumers.
