KARACHI: Journalists staged a protest outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) in show solidarity with ARY News hosts Arshad Sharif and Sabir Shakir.
Journalists’ associations expressed strong protest against Registration of fake cases against presenters Arshad Sharif, Sabir Shakir and others. They are also condemned the federal government for using overwhelming tactics pressure ARY News to continue independent reporting.
A large number of people took part in the protest of journalists, associations office-bearers, media workers, politicians and people from various walks of life, including civil society.
Senior Journalist Mazhar Abbas, KPC Secretary Rizwan Bhatti and many others of journalists showed solidarity with ARY news and hosts.
Journalists warned the federal government of scope expansion of protests, if such overwhelming tactics will continue in the country.
