Announcement
After the winter break, on March 5, the exhibition of the history of information technology of the Neumann Society in Szeged reopens in Szent Györgyi Albert Agora.
According to the announcement of a scientific public organization, in addition to a unique exhibition representing the history of domestic computer technology on 1200 square meters, until April it will be possible to view the exhibition “Programmable graphics – computer graphics by Laszlo Cheese Neumann 120 years old.”
Laszlo Chisi, an electrical engineer, a pioneer of domestic computer graphics, was still working on programmable calculators in the 1970s and 1980s, and today on Mac computers. The artist does not believe in the separation of the “human” and the “real” world; for him, universal human experience is valuable.
The directors of the temporary exhibition, which opens on March 11, also followed this principle: they combined art with technology, IT heritage. In the exhibition, in addition to Laszlo Chisi’s computer art, visitors can learn about the computers he used as tools. This is how the domestic programmable calculator EMG-666 is presented, as well as the Macintosh-like Apple machine that the artist has been using since 2010.
The exhibition is linked to a series of events dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Janos Neumann, as Neumann’s portrait also appears in the exhibition in a recent work created by Laszlo Cisi for the anniversary year.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Neumann Society launched the website www.neumann120.hu, where you can find all the important information about the events of the anniversary year, and in the Kaleidoscope menu you can view visual memories from the life of Janos Neumann.
