ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said he party would challenge recent amendments to the National Accounting Act (NAB) in Supreme Court.
Speaking at a press conference here at his Banigala residence, Imran Khan expressed his hope that the high court would take note. of in development adding that if such moves were allowed, it would be harmful for country.
Imran said the laws are formulated in country should not be specific to any one man, but instead applicable to the collective whole.
Earlier this month joint session of parliament adopted three bills, including those on electoral reform and accountability law. The amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Bill (Amendment) were intended to prevent the “misuse of of law for political engineering and victimization of opponents”.
changes were criticized by Imran and his party, with PTI chairman says that move would destroy country, as the amendment would protect white-collar criminals from accountability.
Continuing the criticism in a spokesman, Imran told the meeting session where the amendment was adopted was “mockery and a joke with country”.
“Those who adopted amendments to the NAB should to be thrown in jail because of their shamelessness,” he said. added.

The PTI chairman claimed he was under pressure throughout of his government and blackmailed to give big political figures a deal like the National Reconciliation Ordinance. of the present coalition government but he doesn’t give in.
“It should to be clear now their return [to power] did not have reduce inflation”.
He said that if the real government remained in power then Pakistan would be on this is way to a situation similar to one in Sri Lanka.
“What they did today (the adoption and implementation of the NAB amendment law), [give a] license for [commit] corruption”.
