ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been de-notified as prime minister of Pakistan, cabinet statement said Sunday after dissolution of National Assembly.
However, in accordance with Article 224 of Constitution of Pakistan – as soon as notice is issued – Imran Khan will continue as prime minister for 15 days before meeting of caretaker prime minister.
Address to Twitter, President Arif Alvi also announced that Imran Khan will continue to serve as prime minister for currently.
“Mr Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi remains prime minister until appointment of Acting Prime Minister under Section 224 A(4) of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” he wrote.
However, there is still no clarity over how caretaker prime minister will be appointed since the National Assembly was dissolved – and people who appoint a person leader of the opposition in The National Assembly and the Prime Minister are no longer in office.

Though prime minister for selected days, he will not be authorized to commit decisions what elected head of in government can do.

Legal experts Munib Farooq, Salman Akram Raja, Salaar Khan, Rima Omar and Sarup Ijaz called the governments move to use Article 5 for deviation no-confidence movement is unconstitutional.
