I-Cell provides MOLTRANS with toll payment

After the parking service provided to MOL Limos, the cooperation between MOL Plc. And i-Cell will continue with toll payment devices installed in MOLTRANS Kft.’s vehicles, which will be implemented in connection with the acquisition of an indirect interest by the large company.

MOLTRANS is a subsidiary of MOL Plc., Which supplies petrol, diesel and premium fuels to MOL filling stations and wholesale customers (eg agricultural and transport companies). It is one of the largest carriers in Hungary, with a fleet of about 120 tankers covering 17 million kilometers a year. Recently, MOLTRANS vehicles have been equipped with i-Cell OBUs. The on-board equipment required to use the electronic toll payment system proportionate to the distance traveled is connected to a free online interface that also provides protection against maximum fines.

“As our tankers cover 40-50 thousand kilometers per day In order to serve the customers with the accuracy expected from our parent company, it is important for MOLTRANS to have a professional background service such as that provided by i-Cell in GPS-based toll payment, “said Szabolcs Kozma, CEO of the cooperation between the two companies.

*) “I-Cell is not only the market leader among toll collection contributors, but also the most reliable provider in terms of device failure rates,” stressed the CEO of the telematics company. Károly Farkas reminded that last year i-Cell extended its two-year warranty for OBUs to three years

Memorable: in January, i-Cell and Lead Ventures announced that Enter Tomorrow Europe Private Equity Fund, a Budapest-based venture and private equity firm specializing in scaleups, has acquired a stake in a Hungarian company that is one of the leading players in the electronic toll payment and fleet tracking segment. MOL, MFB and Eximbank are the largest investors in Lead Ventures’ € 50-50 million funds, so it was obvious that Hungary’s most innovative domestic telematics company would establish closer, professional cooperation with a large oil company.

Two concrete steps of this strategic partnership have already been implemented, that i-Cell provides the automatic parking service for MOL Limo, and that the vehicles of MOLTRANS Kft. Are equipped with an OBU toll-paying device. -Cell is working on further joint projects aimed at expanding the telematics company’s position in international markets, strengthening its domestic position.
