ISLAMABAD: A women human rights activist was released on bail on Friday in a move that protects her from arrest after the army accused her of slandering his boss, the lawyer said.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruling came a day after the judicial cell of General Headquarters (GHQ) made en official a complaint with police against Imaan Mazari, daughter of former minister Shirin Mazari, blaming her of using derogatory and hateful remarks against General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

According to her lawyer, Zainab Janjua, she is accused of incitement against armed forces and slandering Bajwa. Under the law system, a person can seek a court order or bail, protecting them from arrest police.

Her mother, who acted as a human rights activist minister in cabinet of former prime minister Imran Khan was detained over claiming land grabs decades ago. She was released hours later, after the court decided that she had been arrested in violation of a law providing that no deputy may be detained without the permission of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
