Here’s a look at the rain in northern California, the total amount of snow due to the storm this weekend.

A LITTLE AFTER ACTIVE WEATHER WEEKEND. MARK: WELCOME RAIN AND SNOW. THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS AT LAKE TAHO, STILL SOME CLOUDS ABOVE THE HIGH SIERRA, HELP TO KEEP THE TEMPERATURE. AS CLEAR, THE TEMPERATURE CAN DROP TO SINGLE DIGIT AND HERE, DOWN, YOU CAN SEE TREES COVERED WITH SNOW. UP TO 39 IN SACRAMENTO, 40 IN STOCKTON, 42 IN MODESTO AND LAKE TAHO STILL UNREPORTABLE. THERE IS NO POWER PLANT AT THE AIRPORT, AT LEAST AT THE SERVICE SITE. WE WILL KNOW WHEN THE POWER IS RETURNING BECAUSE WE WILL GET SOME OBSERVATIONS FROM THE AIRPORT. WE RUN WITH FOUR TO FIVE FEET OF SNOW WHAT WE EXPECTED, THE SKI RESORTS ARE ALL JOYING AT THE WEEKEND. THIS IS THE BASE COMBINED WITH WHAT WE HAD BEFORE IT SETS THE RESORTS FOR THE YEAR AND WILL BE GREAT ALL THE TIME DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. ACCORDING FOR RAIN IN THE VALLEY TODAY, THE AVERAGE FROM OCTOBER 1 TO TODAY IS A LESS THAN FOUR INCHES. WE ARE SIGNIFICANTLY ABOVE IT, ONLY THIS MONTH WE HAVE OVER FOUR INCHES, SEASON TOTAL IS 5.85, PUTTING US AT 140% OF THE AVERAGE AT THE DATE. BUT WE ARE GOING INTO A DRY AND EVERY DAY WE ADD A LITTLE MORE THAN 10 INCHES OF RAIN TO THE AVERAGE. IF WE GO FOR 14 DAYS OR SO WITHOUT RAINING, WE WILL BE CLOSE TO AVERAGE. RIGHT NOW WE ARE RUNNING AWAY AHEAD OF THE WORLD, BUT WE CAN LOSE THIS ADVANTAGE SATISFACTORY QUICKLY BECAUSE OF SUCH A MODEL CREATED RIGHT NOW. IT’S FUTURECAST TOMORROW MORNING. THIS SHOWS A CHANCE FOR FOG, ESPECIALLY SACRAMENTO IN THE SOUTH. IT SHOULD NOT GO ON THIS LONG AND IT WILL BURN IN THE SUNLIGHT DURING THE DAY. SOME CUMULUM CLOUDS PROBABLY DEVELOP ON THE WEST SLOPE OF THE SIERRA, NOTHING IN THE WAY OF RAIN OR SNOW, JUST LOTS OF SUN. COLD DAY. IN THE VALLEY STARTS IN THE 30S AND THEN IN THE 40S, UPPER 40S AND 50S IN THE AFTERNOON. THE FOOTHILLS WILL HAVE A COLD START AND REACH THE UPPER 40. IT DOESN’T SNOW IN THE HIGH SIERRA, IT STAYS COLD THIS WEEK. SOME CLEAR WEATHER CLOUDS AFTERNOON WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE TAHO POOL AND TRUCK IN THE LITTLE 30S. I am Wisconsin
