According to the governor of the Amur region, Blagoveshchensk is the only international airport in the Amur region, and the construction of a new runway and a new passenger terminal is very recent. “I am sure that (the company) will build a high-quality terminal and will meet all international requirements. Moreover, this company knows how to manage passenger traffic and directions, knows how to negotiate with leading carriers. According to Chudnovsky, private investment in the project will amount to 12 billion rubles. This money will be used not only to build a terminal, but also to improve the entire airport infrastructure: runway, access road and all necessary networks. They will also build a new cargo terminal and upgrade the refueling complex. He noted that now it is difficult to fly from Blagoveshchensk without landing to the south of the country and to the capital.
“The development of the airport will be associated with the fact that we will create a decent infrastructure and get a new runway. This will give us the opportunity to fly comfortably over long distances. Therefore, the first is a wide fuselage and runway, and then a comfortable terminal. The contractor indicated that a unit of 70 people had been assembled at the facility and 60 people had been recruited from the area. 35 units of heavy equipment are involved.

The new building will have an area of 25,000 square metres, three times the area of the existing domestic building. The total capacity of the new terminal is more than 1,000 passengers per hour. The project provides for the construction of a new cargo terminal with a capacity of 6,000 tons of cargo per year, which is 2,000 tons more than the existing one. In parallel, a new runway is being built, which will be able to receive all types of passenger aircraft, including wide-body Boeing 777s and Airbus A330s. Commissioning of the new passenger terminal is scheduled for 2025.
