Governor of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia “SAMA” and Chairman of the Islamic Financial Services Board Ayman bin Muhammad Al Sayyari will chair the annual meetings of the Islamic Financial Services Board, which will be held from August 14 to 16, 2023 in the capital, Riyadh, in the presence of members of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Financial Services Council and a group of experts. Meetings organized by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia will witness; 42nd meeting of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Financial Services Board, as well as the 21st meeting of the General Assembly for 2023 AD.

Side Events

A number of side events will also take place on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Financial Services Council, including the organization of a seminar on capacity building in the banking sector, as well as a celebration on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Financial Services Council, according to the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

Role of the Islamic Financial Services Council

The Islamic Financial Services Council is an international organization whose goal is to develop and strengthen the strength and stability of the Islamic financial services industry by issuing prudential standards and guidelines for the industry.

Founding Membership

The Central Bank of Saudi Arabia is also considered a founding member of the Council based on the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 07/16/1423 AH approving the participation of the bank in the Islamic Financial Services Council as a founding member in accordance with its system.
