Glasgow Airport has reopened following an incident with police in which passengers were evacuated and checked. in terminals at the airport are closed.
Parts of the airport was closed after the police were called just after 6 am after anxiety over en item in passenger bag – but now the officers were standing down and now passengers are met back to terminal after six hour to wait.
Passengers arriving at the airport for departing flights faced delays in checks out, with passengers have to wait in multi-story car park while the police investigate. Long lines built up initially around the check-in tables, however the police later moved people to car park where emergency blankets were provided.

Two fire teams went to the scene with bomb disposal unit of the Royal Navy also sent to the scene, but the police confirmed the suspicious item was deemed not to represent risk to public and was “innocent in nature”.

A Scottish Police spokesman said: “About 5:55 am on Monday, December 5, 2022, the police were called for a report. of suspicious item in the security screening room of Glasgow airport.
“As a precaution and in conformity with procedures, checkingin and the premises of the security screening room were closed to public and a cordon has been put in place.
“After examining of in item Royal Navy Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) it was confirmed that he did not represent risk to public and was innocent in nature.
“All districts of the airport in process of reopens.”
