Altman warned of the ever-growing danger of artificial intelligence systems. During his speech before the US Congress on Tuesday, he said that government intervention “will be important and decisive in reducing the risks of a significant increase in the number of artificial intelligence systems.”

When asked about his worst fears about artificial intelligence, Altman didn’t elaborate.
But he proposed the creation of a US or international agency that licenses artificial intelligence systems, with the power to revoke that license and enforce security standards.
And he believed that this new regulatory agency should put in place safeguards to regulate AI models that can “self-replicate and self-penetrate,” perhaps referring to the worst future concerns about these advanced systems that can manipulate and control people.
Altman’s startup, San Francisco-based OpenAI, gained public attention after launching ChatGPT late last year.
ChatGBT initially caused panic among teachers and scientists, especially because it could be used for fraud.
However, these concerns later expanded to include the possibility of misleading people and spreading lies, as well as copyright infringement and the cancellation of some jobs.
