Apple Maps now provides cycling navigation in Germany, making it possible for customers anywhere in the country to obtain turn-by-turn directions while on their bicycles.
Apple Maps provides bicycle instructions that, to the greatest extent feasible, follow bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly roads. These directions also include elevation information, traffic on the street, and whether or not a route includes stairs. Voice assistance and haptic feedback on the Apple Watch make it much simpler for customers to maintain their concentration on the next step in their journey.
In addition, the “Detailed City Experience” feature of Apple Maps has been introduced in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich, as was pointed out by the German blog Macerkopf. The redesigned experience has increased attention to detail in the road markers and extra 3D models of landmarks built just for the game.
Apple Maps now provides cycling instructions across the United States, China, and Japan, in addition to a select number of major cities worldwide, including London, Barcelona, and Toronto. Apple is constantly trying to catch up to Google Maps, which introduced bicycle instructions in 2010 and now provides them in over 30 countries worldwide. Apple is currently playing catch-up.
