Firefighters fight the blaze out in field in Mid Suffolk.
Five crews from the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene. on land off Church Road, Stowupland, shortly after 4:15 pm. on Wednesday.
Steam locomotives from Leiston, Needham Market, Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Elmswell stations were in attendance.
BUT fire A spokesman for the service said the flames measured about 100m by 300m. in field.
Alex Smith Station manager with The Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “Initially, two vehicles were mobilized. arrivalthey realized fire can spread like this made pumps four and requested a water carrier.
“The crews worked hard to prevent spread to crops and by working with owner and farmer prevented the spread. Unfortunately, there was a small spread on a 1400 tonne manure pile. The incident is currently under control.”
The stop message was sent at 18:29.
